Many of the placements involve contact with vulnerable members of the community. In order to ensure their protection, you are required to declare whether or not you have any unspent criminal convictions. All volunteers are required to obtain a disclosure through the Criminal Records Bureau. You will only need to do this once during your time volunteering with SCA; however you are responsible for informing SCA should you be convicted of any offences after the initial check has been carried out.
